In one of the fiercest battles during Operation Vijay in 1999, Pakistani intruders were successfully evicted from Point 4875 in Mushkoh Valley of Kargil area by the soldiers of Indian Army. In this battle, troops of 13 JAK RIF, advanced along a steep mountain at an altitude over 15000 feet against heavy enemy fire from automatic weapons and killed the intruders in hand-to-hand combat. Indian troops were awarded two Param Vir Chakras and five Vir Chakras in this battle.
